Field of Words
Carl Jung wrote, ‘Talking is often a torment for me, and I need many days of silence to recover from the futility of words.’ Sometimes we need solitude and silence as a retreat from too many utterances (even those well-intentioned) and polemics. At this time, I think of the need for ‘dadirri’ that inner deep listening, quiet still awareness, and waiting that Miriam Rose Ungunmerr-Baumann speaks about.
